What happens when Korean coffee meets Korean sweets?

Join FELT COFFEE co-founder Song Daewoong, who has flown in from Seoul, for a guided coffee and food pairing experience that brings together four of FELT’s coffees with a selection of traditional Korean treats, including tteok (rice cake) and yakgwa. Each coffee will be prepared differently to bring out its character alongside the flavours and textures of each pairing.

We’ll explore four exclusive pairings:

• San Isidro Labrador El Cedro Geisha | as a filter coffee with Yakgwa
• Seasonal Espresso | as a lungo with Injeolmi
• Decaf Espresso | as an espresso with Ggul Beasulgi (rice cake with honey filling)
• Classic Espresso | as a latte with Gultteok (rice cake balls with sesame honey filling)

You'll get the rare opportunity to meet Song in person, while he shares more about the founding of FELT COFFEE, the roastery’s approach to sourcing and roasting, the coffees that have shaped its selection, as well as his perspective on Seoul’s specialty coffee scene.

It will be a fun and informative session where we explore how sweetness, nuttiness and other flavours in these traditional sweets can complement, amplify or transform what we taste in the coffee.

Song Daewoong, together with Kim Younghyun, founded FELT COFFEE in 2015, bringing with him years of experience as a barista and a perspective shaped by his time studying fashion in London, where he was introduced to specialty coffee and espresso culture. Today, FELT works closely with coffee producers, with Song personally visiting coffee-producing regions each year to select green coffees, with a vision to bring specialty coffee into everyday life.
